Job Summary
Must be a currently enrolled Clayton State University student in good standing.
Under close supervision of Human Resources professional Staff, provides clerical support and office assistance to the Human Resources Department.
Job duties include but are not limited to operating office equipment, front office receptionist, filing, and general office / clerical work.
Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, having solid knowledge of Human Resources reception area activity, and all other aspects of customer service.
Communicate effectively both written and oral. Maintain orderly appearance of the Human Resources Reception Area
Internship Focus will be to job shadow under each or at least one facet of Human Resources for a minimum of one shift or associated project.
Other tasks and responsibilities include :
Track progress, deadlines, and priorities of all projects
Research and assist with various HR projects
Assist in management of pre-employment processes
Assist with Title IX
Assist with Employee Well-being Initiative
Research, review, and assist in the revision all HR policies and procedures
Assist with Payroll
Other duties as assigned in the fullfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Clayton State University and the Office of Human Resources
The University Internship Program Initiative is part of the Laker Bridge to Completion Program, funded by a Predominantly Black Institution Formula Grant through the U.S. Department of Education.

- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

- Must be a current Clayton State University Student in Good Standing.
