Health Agent and Broker Subject Matter Expert

Key Role :

Apply deep subject matter expertise to projects involving health insurance agent and broker regulations and practices. Apply knowledge to compliance oversight of agents and brokers under a health insurance program and other associated efforts implemented under the Affordable Care Act.

Leverage expertise to project teams focused on compliance with federal agent and broker marketplace regulations and State Departments of Insurance regulations under which agent and brokers are licensed to sell health insurance products.

Assist program clients with analysis of program policy, rulemaking, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder interaction that reflects an understanding of agent and broker regulations and sales practices across the states.

Develop new business relevant to the client’s payer programs while demonstrating leadership in agent and broker practices to various project teams.

Basic Qualifications :

5+ years of experience as an agent or broker

Experience with State Departments of Insurance and their regulation and oversight of agents and brokers selling health insurance products in individual states

Experience with stakeholders who play a role of agent and brokers in healthcare programs

Experience conveying agent and broker subject matter expertise to project teams

Experience in building a team knowledgeable in agent and broker matters and solutions and products to support oversight and monitoring of agents and brokers

Experience applying agent and broker subject matter expertise to federal procurements and proposal processes

Knowledge of healthcare programs and regulations, including those of sales of Medicare, Medicaid, and Marketplace insurance products

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications :

Experience interacting with a range of stakeholders related to agent and broker matters within both federal and state governments and outside of government

Experience in facilitating meetings and group sessions with both internal and external audiences

Knowledge of agent and broker monitoring and oversight programs, techniques and tools

Ability to build relationships at the client’s agency with state DOIs and other agencies

Possession of excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Possession of excellent team leadership and people management skills

Master’s degree a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
