TheAccounting Clerk performs a variety of accounting bookkeeping andfinancial tasks to include keeping financial records updatedpreparing reports and reconciling bank statements.
The AccountingClerk will also run accounting software programs (e.g. Traverse) toprocess business transactions like accounts payable and receivabledisbursements expense vouchers and receipts.
The successfulaccounting clerk will be familiar with all accounting proceduresand have a flair for numbers. Ultimately the Accounting Clerk willensure that the company s daily accounting functions run accuratelyeffectively and timely.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Provideaccounting and clerical support to the Accounting Department toinclude accounts payable and accountsreceivable.
Accounts Payable
- Process invoices associated with accountspayable for payment purposes.
- Verify accuracy of invoices audit for allcorresponding attachments and ensure payments are charged to theappropriate accounts.
- Enter invoices for payment to ensuretimely payment and submit for approval.
Respond to and address vendorinquiries.
Issue weeklydisbursementrequests.
AccountsReceivable
- Collect and record customer payments forgoods sold services rendered andprepayments.
- Process customer credit cardpayments.
- Process and issue creditmemos.
- Verify allocate postand reconcile accounts receivable.
Invoicing
- Prepare customerinvoices.
- Process customer invoices and mail / emailto customers.
- Respond and address customerinquiries.
- Serve as main contact for customerpayments.
- Issue Customer Statementsmonthly.
- Assist with contacting customers forpayment of past dueinvoices.
- Set up newcustomer and vendor accounts in ERP and Taxplatforms.
- Receive andprocess Credit Applications and over the credit limitrequests.
- Monitor the accounting department emailinbox and follow up as needed.
- Respond and address vendor and customerinquiries.
- Assist with processing monthly expensereports.
- Assist with bank accountreconciliations.
- Reconcile A / P and A / Rstatements.
- Maintain data in the companys accountingsoftware.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principlesstatutory requirements and companypolicy.
- Maintain knowledge of acceptableaccounting practices and procedures.
- Ensure that all other departments complywith internal policies and externalregulations.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate filingsystems.
- Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in allaccounting tasks.
- Suggest ways to improve efficiency andspending.
- Provide support for the department performgeneral accounting functions and other related duties as necessaryor assigned.

Requirements
Education Experience and / orCertifications :
High School graduateor equivalent required AA or AS Degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years ofexperience in general accounting.
Minimum 2 years ofdiversified administrative experience.
Degree of disruption to routineovertime :
Moderate degree of disruption to routine.
Occasional overtimemay be needed to meet reporting deadlines and to attend work eventsas deemed necessary by the job.
