JOB SUMMARY :
Coordinates in-person and online library services that enhance student academic success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Collaborates with the Academic Success Center, regarding shared services for student success. (Examples include but not limited to : Test proctoring, scheduling, front desk support, tutor track management)
- Researches and implements the future technological direction of library systems and resources.
- Manages circulation desk functions, including interlibrary loans
- Orders and catalogs materials in a manner which conforms to conventional standards for academic libraries.
- Oversees the multiple technology / software systems that provide information and allow for accurate retrieval and availability of materials.
- Maintains accurate records and provide statistics and reports to federal, state, and local library agencies and the general interested public.
- Prepares a budget based on the needs of the total library in collaboration with the academic departments.
- Maintains physical upkeep and condition of the library facility.
- Plans and manages the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the University Library.
- Oversees library collection development, resource sharing and technical services areas, as well as special collections.
- Engages actively with students, faculty, and staff in the utilization of print and digital learning materials
- Promotes and integrates the Franciscan values of community, learning, reverence, and service.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manages and evaluates all subscriptions and online database agreements.
- Stays current with higher education best practices.
- Supervises work study students.
- Schedules and provides library instruction to classes when requested by faculty members or on an individual basis.
- Performs other duties as may be required to enhance student success.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS :
Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. Professional experience; budgetary experience; familiarity with library systems;
high level of technological proficiency. Knowledge of OPAL, OhioLINK and OCLC services and Innovative Interfaces is desirable.
