To prepare surfaces and apply paint or other finishes to building interiors, exteriors, equipment and furnishings. Responsible for the safe performance of professional skills associated with preparation of surfaces and application of paint or other finishes to buildings interiors and exteriors, equipment and furnishings. Description of Duties
- Prepares material, room, or equipment surfaces for painting; mix, match, and apply paint, varnish shellac, enamel and other finishes.
- Performs area clean up and rearrangement after job has been completed.
- Maintains and clean brushes, ladders, paints, drop cloths and other equipment used in trade.
- Cuts and inserts glass.
- Preventative maintenance, and emergency repair or scheduled work at night or on weekends.
- Assists other trades and teams when necessary.

Required Education Completion of 6th grade, or ability to read and write English and perform basic mathematics.
