  • Knowledge of the court system, legal terminology, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to perform a variety of complex administrative duties.
  • Knowledge of general office policies, procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of English grammar and spelling, and arithmetic.
  • Ability to perform accurate computations and verifications of data.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to use various computer systems, software, and office equipment.
  • Ability to exercise excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with government officials, other employees, and the public.
  • Ability to comprehend and research laws, statutes, regulations, and other directives.
  • Ability to handle restricted, sensitive, and confidential information.
  • Ability to support the departments / agencys goals and visions.
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure with specific timelines and mandated state and / or agency standard.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to evidence, such as photographs of crime scenes and victims; evidence may include syringes, drugs, weapons, blood and unpleasant odors.
  • Initiates, processes, and maintains a complete and accurate record, using the case management system and established division procedures;

maintaining confidentiality of information learned or acquired as part of position.

Provides courteous and efficient customer service to all in person, in email and over the phone; is approachable, helpful and personable;

and answers questions knowledgeably and with patience.

  • Learns and gains proficiency with and adheres to statutes, rules, Administrative Orders, and requirements related to division.
  • Participates in division cross training initiatives to acquire knowledge and skill sets to support efficient functioning of the assigned division work.
  • Accurately enter, update, and report court records including dispositions and financials.
  • Performs data entry and research of court records for prolonged periods.
  • Performs quality control of court records.
  • Researches, collects, organizes and evaluates information to produce a work product that provides systematic instructions.
  • Assist with the development of standard operating procedures to improve quality of service, productivity and efficiency.
  • Tracks, maintains records and assists in the preparation of statistical and other departmental reports.
  • Maintains and prioritizes calendar of upcoming deadlines.
  • Have a clerical background, preferably with some legal experience.
  • Be responsible and professional.
  • Have the ability to work diligently, both independently and in a team setting, in an efficient manner.
  • Be dependable and able to maintain a good attendance record.
  • Have prior experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Be able to produce high quality work consistently and meet established work standards with minimum errors.
  • Have time management skills and the ability to prioritize; being versatile as work levels vary from day-to-day.
  • Pay close attention to detail and adhere to strict work rules.
  • Maintain confidentiality on the work
  • Have knowledge of general office policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintain working relationships with other employees, management, other agencies, the public, and the judiciary.
  • Be able to learn and retain job information.
  • Be devoted to providing customer service that is prompt, courteous, and accurate to both external and internal customers.
  • Have computer skills and be able to operate general office equipment.
  • Be willing to work in various departments and would be willing to perform various duties within the court system.
