The Director of Energy Industry Engagement is aligned and supports LSU's Scholarship First Pentagon and is intended to bolster the myriads of energy-related opportunities for the university and state's benefit.
The position is responsible for supporting, promoting, and connecting industry to academic and research initiatives across the LSU campuses.
This individual will serve as a business contact for specific industry members and work in conjunction with, but not limited to, Institute for Energy Innovation, Center for Energy Studies, FUEL, PERTT Lab, LSU's Schools and Colleges, LSU Office of Innovation and Ecosystem Development, Office of Research and Economic Development, LSU Online and Continuing Education, and the Olinde Career Center.
This individual will be responsible for the growth of energy industry support activities at LSU through organization, proposal development, and collaboration across the university, energy agencies, the state, and the energy industry at-large.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Portfolio Management (45%) : Coordinate and manage energy industry support activities within LSU consistent with applicable requirements and needs by developing and offering integrated and comprehensive support for specific business needs.
These support services will be structured to help industry partners navigate the complexities of working within the LSU ecosystem, with a goal of removing barriers and growing philanthropic and research funded activities at LSU.
Lead Development (45%) : Develop and grow the energy industry engagement portfolio through new industry partners and interdisciplinary LSU collaborations.
Leverage stakeholder and partner networks across the state to improve industry support participation and outcomes.
- Asset Identification (5%) : Identify and market LSU assets and resources that could serve as a value-add to industry stakeholders, such as, but not limited to : IEI, CES, FUEL, SIF, PERTT, AMMF.
- Relationship Cultivation (5%) : Improve outreach, develop relationships and coordination with energy industry partners.
Work across the state with chambers, Louisiana Economic Development, and other support organizations to grow and develop energy industry support opportunities within LSU.
Non-essential / marginal position responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Five to ten years of experience in economic development, corporate site selection, and / or corporate investment decision making
- Experience with successfully communicating with all levels within an organization, from senior management to operational teams
- Proficient level in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven success aligning corporate interests with programs to establish, secure and sustain valuable industry partnerships
Preferred level / type of experience
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience with philanthropic focused databases
- Experience with corporate philanthropy
- Demonstrated success in corporate fundraising at a major research university

Work Environment Requirements
- May be required to work extended workdays, evenings, and weekends to meet deadlines.
