Job Responsibilities
Captures, produces and edits photo and video content for the agency to provide content for a variety of platforms. Ability to handle multiple projects at once and meet changing production demands.
Manages the production schedule for the Office of Public Engagement, assigns photo and video work, and ensures production deadlines are met.
Uses equipment including camera, phone, microphone and sound mixing equipment. Operates drone for aerial photography. Supervises and performs complex video and photo editing.
Shoots still photography for SCDOT. Distributes agency photography and video to internal customers, members of the media and the public quickly and efficiently.
Maintains a variety of mediums for sharing work and consistently provides high quality work on tight deadlines.
Maintains an archive of SCDOT photo and video assets. Ensures that internal customers can easily access those resources.
Provides support to SCDOT personnel, attending meetings as requested and providing photo and video content. Supervises other production staff and manages the schedule to ensure coverage of priority agency events and meetings.
Attends planning meetings, anticipates photography and videography needs and proactively creates content to support the agency’s strategic communications goals.
Maintains the supply of video, camera and other audiovisual inventory. Recommends new technology and ensures equipment is working properly.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the field. Trains other employees in photography and videography.
Manages special projects at the request of leadership. Proactively creates content in coordination with other members of the team.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and three (3) years of relevant experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
Must be able to obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate FAA's Small UAS Rule (Part 107).
The physical demands for the essential functions of this position include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods and working on a computer.
May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and / or other departmental-related emergencies.
Should be able to work a flexible work schedule on occasion to cover events outside the normal workday in various parts of the state.
