The Nemours Medical Director of Graduate Medical Education (GME) has local responsibility for oversight of all Nemours residencies / fellowships and works with The Designated Institutional Official (DIO) at Thomas Jefferson University's Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine to ensure adequate communication and adherence to established policies.

What does our job look like?
- This role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with the institutional, common and specialty / subspecialty-specific program requirements.
- Ability to successfully integrate the needs of residents and fellows with those of other relevant groups (residents, fellows, faculty, administrators, hospital, and clinic staff) participating in GME
- Chairs Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC)
- Submits a written executive summary of the Annual Institutional Review to the sponsoring institution's governing body on an annual basis.
- Along with the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC), provides oversight of the following : accreditation status of the sponsoring institution and each of its accredited programs;
- quality of the GME learning and working environment within the sponsoring institution, each of its accredited programs, and its participating sites;
sponsoring institutions and each accredited program(s)' annual program evaluation and self-studies (where appropriate)
- Ensuring the GME programming is coordinated smoothly with undergraduate medical education and other health professions students.
- Mentoring and support of Program Directors
- Ongoing management of GME operations including : GME Committees; Contracts / Affiliation Agreements; Resident Well-Being;
Managing Institutional Support; and Effective Communications with Institutional Stakeholders / Partners
What you need to get started!
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience in graduate medical education (, successfully holding a position as a GME Program Director, Director of Medical Education, Chief Academic Officer, or Designated Institutional
- Medical Degree ( or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine ( degree with current Delaware licensure
- Significant experience in graduate medical education and curriculum development, management, oversight, and evaluation, as evidenced by appropriate program leadership positions.
- Robust understanding of Graduate Medical Education as it relates to ACGME and other accrediting entities.
- Knowledge of medical education functions, processes, and resources
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted license to practice medicine / clinical profession in Delaware.
