Responsibilities Per Role
Copy Writer
- Provide a detailed review of complex legal documents, supporting documents, asset transfer documents, entity documents, and required forms for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
- Proofread and edit the copy and content of legal documents to ensure correctness of dates, information, spelling, and grammar
- Ensure the end product captures the clients’ overall goals and objectives while accomplishing the recommendations of the attorney including federal, state, and tax law
- Print and prepare legal documents for signatures
- Support and provide directional leadership to legal drafters to allow for maximum job satisfaction and performance
- Develop, improve, and enforce documentation standards, processes, and procedures to ensure written documents comply with our guidelines
Drafter
- Draft sophisticated, customized, and detailed legal documents for attorney and copy-editing review
- Provide legal research to ensure documents meet federal, state, and IRS tax laws
- Thoroughly review each client’s estate information, structure, and asset documentation to ensure accuracy
- Consistently and accurately update legal documents based on client’s changing needs and objectives
- Keep an accurate and efficient record of all document history on an internal client management system
- Accurately enter data into the applicable documents and / or forms
- Collaborate with team members on all aspects of the client’s estate
- Ensure legal documents and asset transfer documents articulate and achieve the client’s objectives and adhere to attorney recommendations
- Prepare business entities, operating documents, and business audits as part of estate planning and asset protection strategies
Researcher
- Review, record, organize, and analyze estate assets, client notes, and legal documentation to create a comprehensive overview of each client’s estate
- Extract key information from legal documents, state and county records, and other third-party documentation to accurately outline attorney recommendations for our team, our clients, and their advisors
- Critically think through all research and documentation to ensure attorney recommendations are implemented and client goals are accomplished
- Draft and / or prepare documentation and forms to transfer assets according to federal, state, and county laws and requirements and attorney recommendations
- Accurately enter data into the applicable documents and / or forms
- Collaborate with team members on all aspects of the client’s estate
- File reports of beneficial ownership information and applicant information for business entities in accordance with the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), on behalf of clients, under attorney’s direction
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in the writing, editing, legal, finance, or business field
- Must have professional appearance, demeanor and communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Effective time management and organization to meet and exceed deadlines
- Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with a team, maintain strict confidentiality, and implement coaching, training, and feedback while maintaining a high attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with different estate planning documents (i.e., will, health care directive, power of attorney, trusts, etc.)
- Knowledge of real estate, financial investments and bank accounts, private equity, life insurance policies, asset appraisal, and / or business structures and creation
- Leadership experience
