The office of Enrollment Services at Eastern Washington University invites applications for Enrollment Communications Coordinatorto support EWU’s Enrollment Communications.

The Enrollment Communications team at EWU stives to effectively communicate the unique value of EWU in a way that resonates with the goals and aspirations of potential students.

By providing students with relevant, compelling information, Enrollment Communications empowers them to make well-informed decisions about their future college and career plans.

The Enrollment Communications Coordinator reports to the Enrollment Marketing Manager, and will play a critical role in Eastern Washington University’s success by developing and implementing targeted communication strategies that attract and nurture prospective students, support enrollment goals and enhance the university’s overall brand reputation.

The primary focus of this position is to promote and support EWU’s undergraduate admissions office and undergraduate onboarding initiatives by developing and implementing effective communication strategies.

The position is responsible for crafting engaging content, managing communication campaigns, collaborating with multiple teams, and assisting in events and activities.

A successful candidate for this position should be passionate about helping people and fulfilling their needs in the moment, be able to maintain detailed and up-to-date understanding of assigned programs and responsibilities, demonstrate a positive attitude toward work assignments, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Develop appropriate communication plans for the recruitment and enrollment of prospective undergraduate students while working with other campus units to make sure appropriate and timely messaging is shared;
  • Develop, manage and participate in communication campaigns consistent with enrollment goals;
  • Actively seek to stay informed on industry trends and best practices in user experience, customer experience, social media, text, email, phone and print communications for audiences in higher education;
  • Assist in the development of reports, queries, and analytics to determine outreach efforts, ROI, and new student behavior;
  • Use software systems to efficiently organize, track, and report on projects for undergraduate admissions and enrollment;
  • Document communication processes and develop workflow solutions to reduce data errors;
  • Draft, build, revise and evaluate communications;
  • Create content for marketing materials campaigns across multiple media channels;
  • Clean lists and upload cleaned list data into the CRM;
  • Collaborate with EWU Admissions, Financial Aid, Orientation, Advising, Housing and other campus partners in staff trainings;
  • Complete special projects and serve on committees as assigned; and
  • Follow federal, state, and institutional policies, including data retention policies and data security policies.

  • Develop and update training materials in partnership with the Enrollment Communications team, Admissions, Orientation, Advising and Housing;
  • Coordinate with undergraduate admissions and new student onboarding staff to achieve conversion goals and ensure a seamless experience for prospective students consistent with University mission and strategic plan;
  • Work with undergraduate admissions and campus partners to assess needs, make recommendations, and incorporate processes (workflows, tasks, and dashboards);
  • Recommend, implement, test, and deploy CRM improvements;
  • Train admissions staff and campus partners on CRM improvements;
  • Participate in enrollment events and visits as needed;
  • Provide customer service for students;
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
