Come join Lockheed Martin's Long Range Hypersonic Weapon team. Our system will travel at Mach 5 (over a mile per second).
Helping us create a system that goes that fast means overcoming several difficult physics and engineering challenges. You will be part of a team that will be integrating hypersonic missile technology into an Army battery on a highly accelerated schedule to deliver a hypersonic operational prototype system to the Soldier.
The Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) program is looking for our next enthusiastic and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join the Systems Engineering team.
This individual will work on a dynamic team environment supporting the System Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) organization.
- Develop necessary documentation to support testing (procedures, configuration docs, drawings, etc.)
- Work with engineers on integration issues and the development of future system capability
- Perform research necessary to document and resolve weapon system issues
- Participate in failure review boards and assist with the disposition of discrepancy documentation
- Support / lead program Test Readiness Reviews and Technical Interface Meetings
- Develop or refine CONOPS, system architecture, requirements, interfaces etc.
- Balance and assess the requirements, CONOPS, interface definitions and architecture to meet mission needs
- Operate using Systems Engineering processes and functions, tailored to a go-fast program
- Provide Systems Engineering expertise coupled with domain expertise to make the customer effort successful
- Contribute to CDRL creation and work within digital toolset
- Ensure adequate peer reviews and trade study rigor to confirm all engineering changes are complete prior to implementation
- Ensure leadership (Chief Engineer, Program Management, Customer Counterparts) are informed & engaged in decisions which impact contractual performance
- Ensure technical risks are adequately represented
Desired skills
Extensive experience in systems engineering of complex engineering products.
Experience with weapon control system(s) in within the DoD.
Skills in logical architecture modeling and / or interface definition, as well as knowledge of cyber security concepts and security accreditation are highly desirable.
Experience in the design, development, and production phases of a contract
Experience working on customer led working groups with multiple contractors
Experience with systems engineering milestone events (PDR / CDR / TRR etc.)
Lifecycle Management (LCM) Experience
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
A bachelors degree in systems engineer, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Active security clearance (Secret).
