Boat Mechanic
Shift : 1st
Pay : $20-$27
Job Description
- Installs and rebuilds pumps, compressors, clutches, and gear boxes
- Tests marine engines and equipment to determine need for repairs or adjustments
- Repairs and maintains hydraulic equipment and valves
- Operates hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment repair
- Installs and aligns shafting, pumps, engines, rudders and steering gears
- Removal and installation of propellers, bearings and shafting
- Installs and repairs minor electrical systems
- Preserves and coats the exterior and interior of the vessel
- Travel to outlaying ports as needed (estimated 20% travel)
- Other maintenance duties as directed
Work Environment
Candidates will be working in the shipyard, taking engines and other components off of boats, taking them to the shop, repairing and replacing these components.
1st shift : 7a-3 : 30pm or 7 : 30a-4pm.
