Desktop Support Technician
Job Description
Provides support for facility computer systems, computers, and peripherals. The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for installing, diagnosing, maintaining and upgrading / replacing hardware for the end-user.
Additionally, must be able to troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, making sure your customers are up and running smoothly with minimal interruptions.
Qualifications
Technical Qualifications :
- 2-5+ years of applicable work experience.
- Creating and modifying user for legacy systems with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Proofpoint, Novell and Citrix.
Requesting user logins, VPN and internet access.
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedures / process documentation.
- Strong ability to research and investigate basic / complex IT topics.
- Install, set up, and repair of equipment for associate use : PC’s laptops, printers / scanners, USB devices, tablets, VOIP phones, cell phones (Android now, iOS in the future), TVs, projectors, monitors, headsets, web cameras, etc.
Ability to train associates on all of this equipment.
- Installing and configuring software for associate use : Windows, Microsoft Office
- Provide support to the Network Infrastructure team by assisting with installation of network cables, new hardware, etc.
- Document and track reported issues / request to ensure timely resolution and follow-thru.
- Document and track inventory using Excel and Sharepoint.

- Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Be able to present complex technical ideas in user-friendly language.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong customer-service awareness / orientation.

The base hourly range for this full-time position is $24-$27 / hr. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
