As we expand our footprint, we are looking for team members to join our current remote workforce across the country.
As a Group Account Director (GAD) you will oversee multiple key client relationships ranging from Brand to Demand, to Thought Leadership.
You are responsible for leading a team of marketers while maintaining positive, thriving client relationships. Proven strategic leadership experience and strong people management is essential for your success as you partner with agency teams across various departments to deliver innovative thought leadership program activity.
You will play a critical role within the agency, partnering with the Senior Leadership Team and collaborating with other April Six offices (where needed) to best serve our global clients.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, unafraid of getting into the weeds, and are a trusted advisor to senior clients and junior direct reports alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with clients and publisher vendors, inspiring and exciting them about our work and our delivery against their objectives.
- Drive client and publisher activity, initiating strategic and tactical solutions that are commercially creative for both clients, publisher partners, and the agency.
- Demonstrate strategic agility by showcasing your knowledge of clients’ business to direct, inspire and ensure excellence in our creative and strategic solutions, ensuring appropriate cross-functional client leads (Campaign, Brand, Measurement) are brought into appropriate critical campaign milestones.
- Ensure the highest level of professionalism is maintained on assigned accounts and work to meet and exceed client expectations.
Build positive relationships with AWS Senior Leadership team members.
Be a seasoned presenter to persuasively articulate the strategy, value, and expected impact of strategic and creative recommendations across publisher program partnerships.
Ensure shared learnings are applied across thought leadership programs.
- Ensure regular client business reviews take place own the planning for and inclusion of the relevant leadership team in these sessions.
- Generate enthusiasm for and commitment to client work among team members.
- Maintain accurate and timely financial forecasting and billing information, sharing with Head of Client Services on a weekly basis.
- Support your team in adopting company processes and helping them adhere to agency best practices.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of the agency’s high-level business objectives and how they relate to your role.
- Develop your team, setting clear goals, objectives, and professional development plans that allow each team member to thrive in their role as Thought Leadership project management leads.
- Ensure annual performance appraisals and interim goal reviews take place.
- Partner with Head of Client Services to identify the appropriate team structure to support existing and new programs and client growth within Integrated Programs.
- Manage team resources, workload, and coverage to ensure the highest quality work is being delivered to clients on time.
Continue to evolve processes around Media RACI, project management best practices, and ways to continue to automate our processes with technology tools.
Essential Skills and Attributes
- 7+ years agency or client-side marketing experience - B2B Technology market experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in managing and mentoring teams.
- Robust understanding of digital marketing and demand generation programs - experience with integrated global campaigns and thought leadership is strongly preferred.
- Passionate about collaborating with others to identify the best solution for client needs.
- Demonstrate success in building and growing client relationships and consistently exceeding revenue goals.
- Ability to remain positive and manage self and others well when under pressure.
- Ability to proactively seek opportunities to grow the partnerships and / or absorb creative opportunities where A6 team can add value and implement marketing best practices.

- Competitive salary in the range of $150,000-$190,000. Actual salary will be based on geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
