Description
This position allows for an optional hybrid work arrangement which includes a combination of both in-office and remote work on a weekly basis.
To be eligible for the program, employees must complete a minimum of 90 days of continuous employment, be in good standing, and agree to the terms of a Work from Home Agreement prior to being eligible for hybrid work.
The employee's request is subject to supervisor approval. Working locations and hybrid schedules may be altered at management discretion.
Position Summary :
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring and support of the enterprise network environment and infrastructure which includes the Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), telephony and internet systems.
Responsible for ensuring smooth and consistent operation of communication networks to provide maximum performance and availability.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist with configuration and management of Cisco voice infrastructure including Call Manager, Unity Connection, and UCCX
- Provide Level-2 / 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Provides maintenance, support and testing for LAN, WAN, Internet, Firewalls, DMZ, DNS, NAT, VoIP, Policies and Routing.
- Assist with implementation and management of Meraki SD-WAN.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
- Monitoring network performance and ensuring system availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and other network problems.
- Manage co-location(s), racking, cabling, infrastructure and connectivity.
- Ensures prompt response to and recovery from systems and network related production interruptions.
- Maintains accurate network topography diagram and network configurations.
Other Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinates with IT Management to architect and test redundant communications.
- Assists with BCP / DR documentation and testing.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Follows all Launch Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Completes compliance training assignments in a timely manner.
- Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
Associates Degree or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field required.
A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements).
- Related Technical Certifications are preferred (Network+, CCNA, etc.).
- Minimum three years of similar or related experience in network engineering.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in trouble-shooting problems and resolving issues. Able to research capabilities of current or proposed products and make recommendations.
- Solid understanding of industry standards and best practices regarding system and network security.
- Requires some after hours and weekend support.
