At NNL, you’ll be in the ideal place to capitalise on this momentum, face new challenges and develop a long, successful and meaningful career.

We’re an organisation that’s here to experiment and push the limits of what’s possible. So, if you’re keen to excel in your chosen field, this is the place to do it.

Because at NNL, anything is possible.

As part of NNL’s future we need to build on our engagement activities across external, international and government stakeholders.

We’re creating a Corporate Affairs team to make ambition a reality and that’s where you come in.

As our new Corporate Affairs Officer you’ll be a key part of the Corporate Affairs and Communications family which also includes our public affairs agency.

You’ll help us engage our external stakeholders as part of this small but dedicated team.

We’re a purpose-driven organisation - nuclear science to benefit society; this is at the heart of our messaging and we need the right people to connect with our ambition.

The increased focus on energy security and driving a change in the sector landscape has placed a spotlight on the opportunities afforded by nuclear technology.

We are seeing rapid growth of UK nuclear ambitions to underpin national and energy security priorities, and so the value and profile of our work is also increasing.

This role is a critical cog in the Corporate Affairs team, helping to create, co-ordinate, deliver and keep on track of our stakeholder engagement plans.

Based in one of our NNL locations, you’ll work with colleagues from across NNL to design and deliver agile plans to drive positive engagement sentiment.

You’ll contribute to developing stakeholder engagement strategies, manage our engagement channels and roadmap, and working closely with the Communications Team, support the sourcing of content to deliver NNL’s engagement strategy.

Engaging with our stakeholders is fundamental to this role, so understanding what makes them tick is critical to designing the most effective activities.

You will be able to bring forward creative ideas, and must be able to demonstrate excellence in event management from concept through to delivery and evaluation and show how you work as a key member of the team to get things done.

The ability to multitask a variety of projects and prioritise workload is important.

So if you’re a super-organised communications and engagement professional ready for your next big challenge, this could be the perfect opportunity.

The location for this role is Chadwick House, Risley. Travel to other NNL sites and external events is expected.

Main Responsibilities for Corporate Affairs Officer :

  • Support the Corporate Affairs team to deliver stakeholder engagement activities (External, Government and International) with supporting impact measures.

  • Work with the wider communications and HR team to support delivery of NNL’s Outreach Strategy.
  • Coordinate events and arrange visits including associated logistics.
  • Oversee corporate affairs planning activity, including management of the daily and weekly planners to allow effective management stakeholder engagement activities.

  • A pro-active approach, with the ability to hit the ground running and continue working at pace.
  • Event management experience.
  • Refined organisation skills and experience of managing communications and engagement roadmaps and plans (including identifying and mapping stakeholders).
  • The ability to build relationships at all levels with a natural ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • A talent for ensuring clear messages are communicated with an emphasis on tailoring to the stakeholder.
