Position Overview
The Director of Commercial Finance will play a crucial role in driving the financial performance of our commercial operations.
This position will act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, focusing on optimizing pricing strategies, profitability, and revenue growth.
The successful candidate will provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making and long-term planning.
This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering results that align with our company’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership : Partner with commercial teams to develop and execute financial strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability across the organization.
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) : Oversee the annual budgeting process, and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop accurate forecasts and long-term financial models for the commercial division.
- Profitability Analysis : Lead efforts to analyze product margins, customer profitability, and pricing models. Provide insights to improve profit margins and drive cost optimization initiatives.
- Revenue Growth : Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for revenue expansion, including pricing strategies, new business models, and geographic expansion.
- Business Partnering : Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to align financial goals with commercial objectives.
Provide recommendations that influence key business decisions.
- Risk Management : Identify and mitigate financial risks within the commercial business, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Team Leadership : Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing commercial finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Financial Reporting : Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and internal policies. Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a commercial finance function.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with a proven ability to influence decision-making at the executive level.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial planning software (e.g., Hyperion, SAP, etc.).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements.
