What Will Your Job Look Like?

The Director, Transit Technology is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, support, upgrades, new development, and deployment of Transit technology.

This includes maintaining an expertise level of knowledge of existing products to help drive the development of new products and services for the company.

The Director, Transit Technology must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.

The Director, Transit Technology guides staff members and project stakeholders by providing hands-on support, monitoring and optimization of all infrastructure components in support of each product.

What You’ll Do :

  • Provides daily guidance and coaching for team members, helping develop and grow talent
  • Develop, test, resolve, and document new software features for training and deployment
  • Create and implement a strategic plan for all Transit software installations
  • Troubleshoot Transit technology software and document issues and expected results
  • Act as a Project Lead and main point of contact between the IT department and Clients to ensure highest degree of customer satisfaction
  • Coach direct reports on providing effective consultation services to internal and external customers
  • Ensure team members are advising the available technology and employing best practices in the use of Transit technology;

ensuring that each customer’s deployment of transit technology are optimized for maximum value

  • Deliver educational programs to continuously increase both internal and external stakeholders use of the Transit technology product suites through the use of e-Learning and digital content delivery methods and certifications
  • Define, implement and monitor individual and team KPI’s and metrics
  • Provide on-going training and coaching on all services and products
  • Execute project plans to ensure that MTM and MTM Transit are delivering superior customer care and delivering the latest and most applicable versions of the Transit technology to our vendors
  • Client Relations : Effectively communicates with Project Managers, General Managers, Executives, and Clients
  • Participates in strategic planning sessions with Technology Leadership
  • Actively listen and probe customers (internal and external) in a professional and timely manner to obtain further details and purpose of the issue reported.

Research and articulately communicate information

  • May participate in finalist presentations, demos, conference calls, and conduct web demos of EDI capability
  • Facilitate team environment culture by ensuring efficient and accurate communication throughout the entire organization
  • Lead evaluation of RFP’s, pricing support, new business strategy and implementation of Transit technology
  • Guide existing team members and new team members on job duties and software guidance
  • Present information and reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Meet, coach and mentor direct reports at least once monthly; this can include providing or seeking feedback, setting expectations, updates and development opportunities

What You’ll need :

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent work experience in Transportation or other Transit related technologies
  • Minimum of 8 years in an IT and / or Transit role
  • Minimum 3 years of Transit software support, maintenance, upgrade, and Customer Care experience, 4 years preferred
  • 1+ years of experience demonstrating project lead capabilities
  • Experience with Routing, Scheduling and Dispatch software
  • Mobile support experience in the field
  • Experience with SQL Query Writing
  • Experience performing software upgrades and software troubleshooting

  • Knowledgeable in the transportation industry

  • Must be able to perform new RFP Interviews with transit agencies
  • Works well under pressure

Salary Min : $120,000

Salary Max : $140,000
