A law firm in Valhalla, NY, seeks a skilled and experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney. This role involves representing insurers in coverage matters and insurance coverage litigation, developing litigation strategies, conducting rigorous legal research, and providing comprehensive coverage advice.
The position requires solid legal acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively in a dynamic legal environment.
Duties :
- Represent insurers in coverage matters and insurance coverage litigation.
- Develop litigation strategies for insurance coverage disputes.
- Perform critical roles in insurance coverage litigation and arbitration.
- Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis.
- Draft memoranda, position letters, and legal correspondence.
- Analyze insurance policies and provide coverage advice and recommendations.
- Supervise and participate in the mediation and settlement of underlying litigations worldwide.
- Draft and review pleadings, memos, briefs, interrogatories, and other litigation documents.
- Participate in depositions, document reviews, conferences, and all aspects of coverage litigations and arbitrations.
- Interact with clients and provide high-quality legal representation.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues and other professionals.
Requirements :
- Admission to practice law in either New York or New Jersey.
- 3+ years of experience in commercial litigation or in-house experience with liability insurance policies.
- 3-6 years of experience in a law firm or insurance company setting.
- Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent academic credentials and a solid work history.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Education :
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications :
Licensed to practice law in New York or New Jersey.
Skills :
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents and correspondence.
