The University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire a Project Manager I (PM1) to serve within Planning, Design and Construction (PDC).
PM1 will provide leadership and project managementfor highly technical, mission critical, and sensitive construction project types.
PDC is currently managing more than $2 billion in projects in the design and construction phases, and this position is critical for the successful delivery of these projects.

Purpose
Project Manager 1 will perform entry level, task oriented project management duties including baseline planning, organizing, directing and facilitating design & construction projects to successful completion, under the direction of a Team Lead.
Responsibilities
Provide consistent, timely and reliable communication between all project stakeholders, including clients, professional service providers, university personnel and contractors to ensure that projects are thoroughly documented and understood.
Provide excellent customer service to meet client needs and university Design & Construction Standards.
Assist with development of project scope, budget and schedule for multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
Procure services of Professional Service Providers (PSPs) and Construction teams and help administer agreements.
Provide professional direction for project teams to achieve common goals and successful projects.
Track project budgets and schedules and develop reports as directed. Keep facilities database software (FAMIS) up to date reflecting current project information.
Learn and maintain awareness of project safety requirements, following OSHA standards.
Participate on committees, task forces, etc. to improve the departmental mission of excellent customer service and project delivery.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a combination of experience in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Management, Business, or comparable related field.
0-2 years of experience supporting projects of various sizes. Demonstrated willingness and ability to develop knowledge of building codes, including National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101, International Building Code (IBC), Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as well as learn and apply the University of Texas at Austin Design and Construction Standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with institutional projects for a variety of client and space types. Experience in preparing and delivering presentations, proposals and estimates, particularly in an institutional setting for owner clients.
Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Business, or a closely related professional field, and developing skills along a professional licensure track.
Related specialty certificates such as LEED AP, PMP, CEFP, or similar. OSHA 10-Hour (or higher) certification.
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence.
If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

$74,400 + depending on qualifications

Retirement Plan Eligibility :
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
