Job Description
TechSilo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Assurance Compliance Specialist III to oversee, evaluate, and support the documentation, validation, and accreditation processes for new and existing information technology (IT) systems.
The primary responsibility of the Specialist III will be to ensure that these IT systems meet the organization's information assurance (IA) and security requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of risk management, compliance, and assurance, both from internal and external perspectives, to ensure the highest level of information security.
This is a full time position that becomes available on or about January 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Computer software engineers develop new computer software systems and incorporate new technologies in a rapidly growing range of applications.
- They apply the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software and systems that enable computers to perform their many applications.
- Software engineers analyze users' needs and design, construct, test, and maintain computer applications software or systems.
- They can be involved in the design and development of various types of software, including software for operating systems and network distribution, as well as compilers that convert programs for execution on a computer.
- Software engineers also solve technical problems that arise during the development and maintenance of software systems.
- Their work requires strong programming skills, with a focus on developing algorithms and analyzing and solving programming problems rather than writing code.
- The most commonly used programming languages for software engineers are C, C++, and Java, while Fortran and COBOL are used less frequently.
Salary : $158,000 - 168,000 / yr
Qualifications
Education : Master's level degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science
Experience : 7 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks
Experience with Navy is preferred. Eligibility to possess a SECRET security clearance is required. Knowledge of MBSE / MBPS tools, such as System Modeling Language, S3000 data structure, Navy Data Acquisition Requirement Tool, and other to support Navy Common Readiness Model analysis capability is a benefit.

Candidates support Combat System engineering for the Navy combat, weapon, and ancillary systems during their lifecycle, which includes all phases of acquisition, modernization, and fleet sustainment.
Candidates conduct research and design studies of assigned equipment in support of acquisition and in-service engineering efforts.
Candidates shall perform engineering analysis and / or reviews of systems engineering initiatives and develop synopsis reports identifying trend areas and / or deficiencies that support systems engineering efforts.
They provide engineering, enterprise-level studies, data collection and analysis to support Interface Control Documents, development, integration plans, Interface Control Working Group, interface design solutions, life cycle and interface management plans, problem resolution, special studies, and system / subsystem integration.
Candidates support research, development, evaluation, analysis, and assessment of alternatives for technology testing and development activities.
They prepare and deliver reports that identify concept of operations; baseline and gap analysis; requirement definitions;
environmental scans; stakeholder’s analysis; strength, weaknesses opportunities and threat analysis; and, strategic and tactical engagement plans.
Candidates may use Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and Model Based Product Support (MBPS) software and tools to evaluate system requirements, operational scenarios, and system readiness.
MBSE / MBPS tools are used throughout the product or system life cycle and may include System Modeling Language, S3000 data structure, Navy Data Acquisition Requirement Tool, and other to support Navy Common Readiness Model analysis capability.
Other modeling tools, such as Design of Experiment, shall be used to optimize test planning and perform trade studies. Modeling and Simulation (M&S) tools and algorithms to optimize system / process performance, data flows, and Total Ownership Costs are used.
Candidates may develop statistical models to predict future system or process performance. They may support and execute M&S Software Engineering, Test and Evaluation, and training tools to assess effectiveness and provide recommendations for implementing new technologies.
Candidates may be required to prepare analytical evaluations and reviews on proposed or existing technical documentation for assigned systems.
The documentation may include development, interface, or end-item specifications, test requirements and plans, production drawings, operating manuals, among other documents.
Candidates will support the investigation, evaluation, development, integration, implementation, and / or test of Distance Support hardware and / or software tools used in shipboard and / or laboratory environments for Combat and Weapon System / elements.
