Mechanical Engineering researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.
Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and / or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and / or machines.
A Senior Professional (P3) applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
Responsibilities may include managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision, and coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals.
Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.
Your Responsibilities :
- Ensure on-time delivery of work and project assigned with high quality output.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and our transformer factories across the US and Canada for assigned projects.
- Visit factories based on project requirements.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Collect details of projects and make multiple trials for standardization.
- Coach and train entry-level engineers / interns.

Your Background :
- BE / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8-10 years of experience in the transformer industry, preferably in distribution transformers up to 69kV class.
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing processes of 3-phase and single-phase oil-filled distribution transformers.
- Conversant with 2D and 3D modeling tools like AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
- Familiar with IEEE / DOE standards.
- 3D modeling and structural knowledge of pad-mounted transformers, wound core transformers, optimization techniques, and cost analysis.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of ANSYS for thermal and structural analysis is a plus.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
