Job Summary : The Education Outreach Coordinator develops, manages, and implements quality educational programs for students, families, and adult audiences.
Additional Department Summary : Conducts substantial public outreach and contributions to the development, management, and delivery of quality educational programs for all age groups.
Contributes substantially to the development and delivery of the museum's outreach programming. Manages funds budgeted for the museum outreach programs.
Supervises docents and volunteers involved in the delivery of these outreach programs.
Required Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of educational work experience; OR Master's degree and some educational work experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications : Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge : Knowledge of personal computers and standard software programs (word processing, spreadsheet applications, etc.
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational and time management skills. Ability to travel off-campus for museum events is required.
Preferred Qualifications : Master's degree in a science field and two (2) years experience in educational activities and / or public programming experience in a museum.
Demonstrated record of successful grant application writing.
