The Richmond, VA team is looking for dedicated, creative, and energetic candidates interested in tackling challenges and developing sustainable solutions to address water issues like quality, scarcity, reuse, management, and resilience.
Collaborating with our experienced water professionals, you will support and drive the development of projects, interact and work with clients, and develop your technical capabilities.

Role accountabilities :
As and Entry Level Water Engineer, you will be involved in evaluating, planning, and designing projects related to water / wastewater / stormwater treatment and conveyance, including pipelines and pumping facilities.
Your support will also extend to project management activities. Additionally, you will contribute to sustainability and resilience projects by conducting vulnerability assessments, mitigation planning, and designing solutions for utilities, municipalities, and cities.
In the field, you will be responsible for performing various tasks such as site visits, water sampling, analyzing water quality, evaluating technologies, troubleshooting processes, and optimizing plant operations.
Your expertise will be essential in gathering critical data and ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of water and wastewater systems.
You will also play a crucial role in supporting Asset Management projects. This will involve utilizing data analytics to perform operational and organizational assessments, conducting condition assessments, and evaluating the overall performance of water / wastewater / stormwater facilities.
By providing valuable insights, you will contribute to improving asset management strategies and enhancing the overall performance of these systems.
In addition to the accountabilities mentioned above, you will also :
- Support preparation of reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings.
- Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health and safety standards, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget.
- Learn, design, and manage databases, SQL server (including reporting and integration services), cloud-based computing services, and configuration of interactive dashboards.
- Work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the U.
S. and internationally.
Learn and use digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Power BI, and Augmented Reality.

Required Qualifications :
Bachelors of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline).
Preferred Qualifications :
- Prior work / internship experience at a design or consulting engineering firm or municipal work environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and / or Revit
- EIT certification.
