Drywall & Painting Professional

This is a full-time position within our company and not a subcontractor position.

Drywall Hanging, Finishing & Painting Professional - (Must have experience with both drywall and painting)

We are seeking a detail-oriented drywall hanging, finisher, and painter to join our team. As a drywall finisher and painter, your duties will include sealing joints, repairing cracks, and smoothing imperfections on walls and ceilings to create surfaces that are suitable for final treatment followed by painting all areas.

You should also ensure that all supplies are used safely.

To be successful as a drywall finisher and painter, you should be able to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining a high quality of work.

Ultimately, an excellent drywall finisher and painter will utilize sound techniques to produce high-quality drywall finishes and painting on time.

Drywall Hanging & Finisher Responsibilities :

• Joining drywall panels using tape and plaster.
• Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels.
• Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface.
• Layering plaster or spackle with trowels to create a flat surface.
• Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface.
• Skimming the surface with a final layer of plaster in preparation for finishing work.
• Managing and maintaining all the required equipment for the job.
• Keeping your supervisor abreast of your progress and reporting any job-related issues.
• Ensuring that all equipment and materials are used safely and effectively.

Painter Responsibilities :

• Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint
• Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces
• Providing decorative and faux finishes as the project requires
• Handling planning and prep work in an efficient manner
• Preparing the surrounding area by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes
• Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project
• Calculating the number of materials and time required for said project
• Removing fixtures such as doorknobs and light switch covers
• Taping off areas as needed
• Choosing and purchasing paint, brushes, and other supplies from vendors
• Cleaning up supplies and replacing fixtures when the project is complete
• Communicating with clients to ensure they're getting the look they're hoping for

Drywall & Painter Requirements :

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience as a drywall finisher and painter.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good knowledge of the tools, materials, and methods used in drywall and ceiling finishing.
• Knowledge of the applicable safety guidelines.
• Basic math skills.
• Good problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Physically fit and able to work long hours.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Pass a pre-employment background screening with no felonies.

Pay Rate :

• Commensurate based on experience
