Job Summary

The Civil Construction Project Manager / Estimator is responsible for directing in-house crews and subcontractors. Also, they work directly with customers and are involved in bidding and billing projects.

This position supports the Project Management and Construction team and customers in addition to various personnel in the company.

Our candidate will be performing Estimator duties and will be responsible for assisting with the administrative function of current projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare material and subcontractor take-offs for bid projects.

This position supports Project teams and works with vendors as well as personnel from other departments.

This position involves civil construction, earthwork, utility work, and cement work. Applicant MUST have experience these.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead internal and external project teams to ensure on-budget and on-schedule delivery.
• Report and communicate to external customer(s) and internal management each day.
• Build processes and teams required to deliver all project requirements.
• Coordinate with the Project Construction Lead for timing, execution, and closeout of individual projects.
• Lead weekly meetings with the client and project team.
• Send crews to projects and direct them on the overall tasks needed to be completed.
• Bid and bill each project once complete.
• Approve timesheets and daily logs.
• Ensure the crew has the correct equipment needed for the project.
• Prepare and deliver bids.
• Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders for projects.
• Assist operations in administrative duties on projects.
• Furnish bid information for tracking purposes, follow bid process, and work on improving bid process.
• Prepare job files for operations.
• Keep job log up-to-date.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of Civil Construction Project Manager experience.
• 3 years of Civil Construction Estimator experience.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field of study.
• 4 or more years of Construction Project Manager experience.
• Professional Engineer or Project Management Professional certifications.
• Fundamental knowledge of Primavera P6.
• OSHA 10 certification.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.

This position is primarily sedentary, with some filing or lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
