We are seeking to hire a Forklift Operator for one of our clients in the Walesboro area. This company specializes in automotive parts and storage.
Position : Forklift Operator
Hours : 8 AM 4 PM
Pay : $18.00 per hour
Language : Must be fluent in English
Forklift Job Description :
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to transport, load, and unload materials within the warehouse or production facility.
The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with team members.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate Forklift : Safely maneuver forklifts in compliance with safety regulations to move materials and products throughout the warehouse.
- Loading and Unloading : Efficiently load and unload goods from trucks and containers, ensuring that items are handled properly to avoid damage.
- Inventory Management : Assist in inventory control by accurately stacking and unstacking pallets and maintaining organized storage areas.
- Inspection : Conduct pre-operation inspections of the forklift to ensure it is in safe working condition and report any maintenance issues.
- Material Handling : Handle and move materials such as pallets, crates, and boxes with precision, ensuring correct placement in designated areas.
- Safety Compliance : Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to minimize accidents and injuries, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Documentation : Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and report any discrepancies to management.
- Collaboration : Work closely with warehouse team members to ensure efficient operations and communicate effectively regarding workload and safety concerns.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a forklift operator or in a warehouse environment is advantageous.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as required.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift up to insert weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds as needed.
Important Note :
Candidates must pass a forklift test before being placed on assignment.
Benefits :
Once hired on, you will be eligible for benefits 60 days after conversion. The company will cover 75% of the cost, while employees will be responsible for 25%.
Typically, you can expect a pay increase upon permanent hire, based on attendance, attitude, and performance.
