Job Description
Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of ten years of experience for our DC Metro office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm.
The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing / business development.
This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multi discipline office.
This candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services.
The ideal candidate will have experience in providing engineering for a variety of projects involving HVAC systems, plumbing systems and coordinating multifaceted projects.

Qualifications
Requirements Include :
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) (required).
- 10+ years of engineering work experience including :
o Designing HVAC and plumbing systems
o Managing and designing multiple concurrent projects
o Strong ability to interpret technical drawings
o Leading design team efforts
o Managing project team for budget and schedule control
o Experience with Load Calculation Software
o Working knowledge of REVIT and CAD
o Developing fee and qualification-based proposals
o Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus
o Active local industry involvement is a plus
- Familiarity with relevant codes : mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards
- Reading and preparing project drawings including duct work plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.
- Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs
- Energy modeling experience is a plus
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams.
- Ability to travel periodically.
