What Will You Do?
This Staff Accountant is a hands-on accounting role reporting to the Controller and you will be engaged in corporate level accounting duties / responsibilities in an effort to support our teams.
These teams are traveling throughout Canada and the United States implementing GSI’s unique and proprietary approach to solving our customer’s needs.
Responsibilities
What Work Will I Be Performing?
- Daily cash reporting and cash forecast
- Cash month-end closing / reconciliation
- Vendor setup and compliance; credit applications, 1099s / W9s
- Sales and use tax filings, reports, and reconciliations
- Assist external preparer for all Federal and State Income tax filings. Including foreign taxes / transfer pricing.
- Job cost and other adjustments
- State prequalification financial reporting
- Fixed Assets - additions, disposals, and monthly deprecation
- Monthly Equipment usage and accruals
- Debt reconciliation Capital leases, LOC, etc.
- Auditor assistance
- Assist with general accounting tasks and reporting
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
- Three years’ accounting experience.
- Auditing skills / experience and attention to detail.
- Advanced level Microsoft Excel with experience building complex pivot tables, and macros.
- This role is a hybrid of 3 / 2 (office / remote).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with public and / or multi-state accounting.
