AP Staff Accountant Responsibilities : As an AP Staff Accountant, you'll focus 60% on Accounts Payable (AP) and 40% on general accounting tasks.
Accounts Payable (60%) :
- Manage full-cycle AP for one of twelve entities, handling 100-150 invoices weekly with another AP professional.
- Use Bill.com and NetSuite for invoice processing : review AI-filled fields, ensure proper routing, and coordinate with the CAO for weekly payments.
- Categorize invoices accurately, review denials, and conduct research to correct information.
- Match POs with invoices in a separate system, performing additional research as needed.
- Assist with manual payments and verify bank account details for accuracy.
Staff Accounting (40%) :
- Support month-end close processes, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and expense reallocations.
- Ensure all accounts are accurate and reconciled before month-end.
- Assist with AP accruals and accrual-based accounting.
- Participate in various accounting projects to support the finance team.
AP Staff Accountant Qualifications :
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (debits and credits, prepaids, fixed assets).
- Experience with Bill.com is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and SUM / IF functions.
- Relevant accounting experience required; no degree necessary.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Energetic, collaborative, and team-oriented.
- Local candidates from Denver only.
Additional Details :
- Work Schedule : Full-time, 9-5 with potential for overtime during close periods.
