Job Title : CAD Technician
Job Description
Responsible for drafting and providing designs to Engineering. Will take raw data and turn it into a working drawing, building upon that and adding construction layers (electrical auxiliary systems, power distribution, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, to make it a full construction document.
Expected to consult with engineers regarding accuracy and fill in technical detail. Will be taught Revit if not already proficient.
Will use AutoCAD, Revit and other tools. This is a production environment that is very fast-paced with intricate designs.
Electrical is one of the most crucial parts of an architectural system, so there will be tight deadlines, but the submitted work must be 100% quality.
Will work in the office the majority of the time but might occasionally visit a local job site. The projects mainly involve Industrial and Commercial sectors.
Hard Skills
- Drafting and providing designs to Engineering
- Creating as-built drawings
- Specification and design of site lighting, interior lighting, and emergency lighting
- Maintain drawings used by field teams
- Coordinate with mechanical contract drawings
- Production of detailed electrical schematics
- Fill in technical details using drawings, rough sketches, specifications
- Perform calculations for placement accuracy
- Data cleaning : rendering, redlining
- Research specifications and datasheets
- Log drawings and database entries
- Looking for candidates with Architecture education, experience.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Madison Heights, Michigan.
Work Environment
M-F 40-45 hours per week, flexible hours, no hybrid option. Must be in the office the majority of the time. The Electrical Design team consists of 2 other members.
