The Early Childhood Screening Specialist will administer health, hearing, vision, and developmental screenings to children from one year old to school age and work with Early Childhood Director to place students and / or make recommendations to families for early childhood education opportunities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Make screening appointments
- Conduct screenings with children and summarize results to parents / guardians
- Maintain screening environment and materials
- Facilitate post-screening review with interdisciplinary team
- Initiate follow up communication with parents
- Maintain screening records
- Meet with Early Childhood team to review screenings
Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum :
- Degree in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, or related field
- Experience working with young children
- Professional flexibility to accommodate the needs of families
Preferred :
- Experience with screening instruments for young children
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge of Columbia Public Schools
