General Description
The lowboy driver is responsible for safely loading and securing heavy equipment to move from jobsite. This job description may also perform a wide variety of tasks, transferring from one task to another as the workflow dictates.
Key Duties
- Familiarity with the safe operation of construction and / or paving equipment
- Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of heavy equipment
- Knowledge of all USDOT and FMCSA regulations
- Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels for leaks and damage prior to operation
- Notify supervisor if vehicle requires repair
- Ability to calculate weights of equipment with truck / trailer combo to stay within DOT permitting restrictions and guidelines
- Ability to safely drive a water truck, flat bed and / or other commercial vehicles as required
- Flexibility with schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL and driving record within MVR policy guidelines
- Current Medical Examiners Certificate (FMCSR part 391.41)
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and / or carry 50+ lbs
- Preferred : lowboy experience
