Position Summary :

Midnight Sun AUS is looking to hire a Carpenter to p erform g eneral carpentry duties that includes c onstructing, installing and repairing structures and fixtures of drywall, wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• This position will read construction plans and or drawings.
• Measuring and lay out ceiling grids.
• Measuring and laying drywall track / framing.
• Cutting and hanging drywall.
• Installing doors, frames and hardware.
• Maintain professionalism with coworkers and customers.
• Complete all required company, contract and safety trainings.
• Maintain a safe working environment and Must have an Uncompromising Commitment to Safety!
• Follow and give oral and written instructions based on company, client and / or site requirements.
• Operate a wide variety of construction tools and equipment safely.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements :

• High School Diploma required.
• Must have minimum five (5) years' experience in construction at reading construction plans and / or drawings, measuring and laying out ceiling grid, measuring and laying drywall track / framing, cutting and hanging drywall, installing doors, frames and hardware.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
• Must work well in a team environment.
• The ability to pass and maintain a government background check and site access

Certifications / Licenses / Other

• OSHA certification is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record and ability to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Report check preferred.

Work Environment :

Commercial office building that consists of offices, conference rooms, mechanical rooms, etc.

Physical Demands :

• Frequently lifting and moving materials and tools weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance and over 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Frequently bend, stoop, stand reach and walk.
• Ability to climb ladders.
