The Sr. Clinical Informatics Specialist (Sr. CIS) will provide expertise and training in the optimization and use of the NextGen, EDR (QSI) and Avatar (NetSmart) Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems referred to GPHA EHR Systems henceforth - to our patient care teams.
The Sr. CIS will report to Manager of Clinical Applications.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Health Information Management, or related major or Clinical fields such as Nursing, etc. or equivalent required;
- Experience with the NextGen a must. Experience with EDR (from QSI) and Avatar (from NetSmart) and / or other E.H.R. Systems a plus;
- Minimum of five-years’ experience supporting NextGen electronic health records and practice management system;
- Minimum of two years’ experience creating and maintaining training plan to meet organization, EHR, and Quality Improvement objectives;
- Certification in at least one Electronic Health Records (EHR), preferably in NextGen or Avatar or willing to be certified;
- Demonstrated understanding of recent ambulatory clinical practices, practical knowledge of primary care office operations and excellent understanding of its clinical work flow, systems, and procedures; and
- Minimum of two-year experience in process redesign / workflow analysis, quality improvement, training, testing or education required.
Must have demonstrated knowledge and / or skills in the following areas :
- Ability to communicate and conduct effective training to a diverse population; Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to work effectively with providers and other clinical and business staff.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate good customer service skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new processes, procedures and applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to travel within various office locations.
- Knowledge or experience of image and video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Flash, and Premiere.
