Job Summary : Provide management within the business valuation practice by communicating with clients, supervising business valuation staff, building and reviewing valuation models and serving as a leader within the firm on technical topics related to business valuation.
Business Valuation
- Experience with and advanced understanding of business valuation theory and principles set forth in the Statement on Standards for Valuation Services and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice
- Experience with valuation of intellectual property and other intangible assets
- Experience with valuations performed in connection with purchase price allocations
- Experience with valuations of complex financial instruments
- Experience with option price modeling including Black-Scholes and Monte Carlo simulations
- Experience with valuations in connection with shared-based compensation
- Analyze and research market data, including industry dynamics and financial conditions
- Review and analyze financial and economic data
- Review and build financial models, including an analysis of financial statements and adjustments to determine value
- Analyze tax returns and the effects of tax laws on determining value
- Ability to determine the impact of various legal documents on the valuation analysis
- Review valuation reports
- Research current valuation trends and case law
Supervisory
- Lead by example, actively live out and promote the firm's core values HT3 and service standards.
- Supervise employees in Business Valuation environment
- Coordinate caseload and delegate responsibilities for effective departmental management
- Process client billing in a timely manner
- Manage valuation projects for selected clients and assist in managing overall client relationships.
- Participate in department and firm administration, including active participation in the career development program through :
- Overseeing or assisting in the management of staff schedules and capacity
- Serving as a Career Advisor for assigned Advisees
- Assisting with the recruitment and selection of new team members
- Assisting in the training and development of the team.
- Maintain the economics of job performance by reviewing and working within Firm operational budgets and billing constraints.
- Use time management skills to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Assist in business development efforts, as requested
- Scope and price engagements
- Prepare presentations for client proposals, attorney presentations, etc.
- Participate in professional and business organizations in order to advance the profession and expand personal network
- Expected level of chargeable time is 1,400 billable hours, within the context of 2,200-hour year
- Compliance to the Firm's quality control standards
QUALIFICATIONS : Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Five (5) to seven (7) years business valuation, economic damage and / or litigation support experience
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Excellent professional presence
- Proven ability to work in deadline driven environment
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to focus on multiple projects and meet various deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- ABV, ASA, CFA, and / or CVA credential required
- Demonstrated ability to network, market, develop leads and generate revenues
- Expert witness testimony experience preferred but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
While performing the duties of this job the employee will regularly be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, drive, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift and / or move up to 25 lbs.
