Salary :
Part-Time Hospital Director of Pharmacy Position Available at Bullock County Hospital in Union Springs, AL. The schedule is two days per week from 9am-1pm or one day a week with an 8 hour shift, the days of week are flexible.
The Director of Pharmacy will be the PIC and responsible for all of the reporting.
All experience levels considered. No hospital experience required.

Working Director of Pharmacy Position
Working under the supervision of the VP for Pharmacy Management as well as Hospital Administration, fulfills all legal and regulatory requirements, including evaluation, selection, procurement and distribution of drugs, counseling and professional consultation.
Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as policies of the hospital and PharmD on Demand. Interprets physician medication orders.
Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals and related products for patient care by performing related duties.
Responsible for supervising all onsite staff.
- Ability to represent the hospital and PharmD on Demand in a positive and professional manner; ability to maintain customer confidentiality at all times;
- ability to comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices; ability to exercise judgment; ability to interact with all types of people;
ability to maintain remain professional in all situations; ability to use time effectively. Utilizes pharmaceutical equipment to include automated dispensing machines, Laminar Flow Hoods and compounding equipment.
Additional job requirements include but are not limited to :
- Works with hospital and PharmD on Demand administration on planning, organizing and directing pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
- Responsible for overseeing restock, maintenance management, contract renewals, etc. for automated dispensing machines
- Responsible for pharmacy department per Alabama Board rules, laws, and Joint Commission Standards
- P & T committee requirements as indicated per policy
- Med Exec committee policy as indicated per policy and hospital expectations
- Maintenance of all applicable accreditations and licenses
- Responsible for quality improvement initiatives as requested by the hospital and per policy
- Having a willingness to make changes to processes to improve efficiency and ultimately provide clinical support for patients
- Identify processes for improvements
- Delegate duties as needed
- Attend and / or lead meetings as needed
- Responsible for all order entry during hours of operation and clinical patient reviews
- Responsible for Chargemaster upkeep
- Responsible for Formulary management both perpetually and in the EHR system
- Responsible for all things related to clinical informatics in and regarding the pharmacy department
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical / healthcare errors
- Assist physicians and other departments as needed
