What you should know about the Safety & Security Specialist position :
This is a full-time position serving our Dayton Hospice House IPU but may occasionally serve our Middletown Hospice House IPU as well. .
This is varied shift hours to cover both 1st & 2nd shifts with some weekend coverage
We provide superior care and superior services to patients at their end of life journey. Only those who have a heart for hospice will succeed
Safety & Security Specialist Responsibilities :
- Uses effective means of communication to assist in responding to calls for assistance and emergencies.
- Quickly responds to campus emergency situations.
- Communicates with police, fire, and / or EMS in emergency situations.
- Patrols interior and exterior of the campus to ensure the facilities remain safe and secure.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and access control systems and alarms.
- Complete necessary job-related documentation in a timely manner.
- De-escalate potentially hostile situations when needed.
- Carry a firearm legally, when necessary.
- Assists in other activities and departments when requested.
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities to support the quality of Ohio’s Hospice services.
Safety & S ecurity Specialist Qualifications :
- General education degree (GED) or High school diploma preferred.
- Law Enforcement, Security, and / or Military experience is preferred.
- OPTA Basic Peace Officer Training Academy is preferred.
- Ability to legally carry a firearm.
- Computer skills sufficient to properly participate in communication methodologies.
- Travel may be required during daytime, nighttime or inclement weather.
- Valid Driver's License with Safe Driving Record
- State Minimum Automobile Insurance Coverage
