Cedar Hills Hospital is a -bed behavioral health hospital and outpatient services program located in Portland, Oregon. We are part of Universal Health Services, a Fortune large healthcare organization with over acute care and behavioral health locations in the U.
S., Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom. At Cedar Hills Hospital, our team of board-certified psychiatrists, physicians, licensed therapists, and nurses provide individualized, continuum of care treatment for adults aged and over.
The Director of Intake is responsible for overseeing the assessment and referral activities of the inpatient hospital. As a clinician, this position provides direction to a team of Intake Therapists and RNs in the provision of psychiatric assessment services, including clinical evaluations, nursing assessments, crisis intervention, and referrals to external providers.
This position interfaces closely with the medical team, nursing, leadership, external case managers, referral sources, and managed care organizations, and functions as a liaison with hospital emergency departments.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychiatric nursing, counseling, marriage and family therapy or another clinical degree in the mental health field or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and current Oregon Registered Nurse License required.
- 3 to 5 years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
- 2 years of recent leadership experience in behavioral health or a related field.
- Working knowledge of addiction and recovery, clinical interviewing, patient assessment, and treatment planning.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Practical Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Successful completion of Handle with Care and Service Excellence training within days of hire.
- May be required to work evenings and weekends and maintain flexible hours.
- Travel may be required from time to time.
