Law firm in Century City is seeking a Legal Secretary speciaizing in litigation defense matters to support up to five Attorneys.
The firm offers a hybrid schedule, great benefits.
Duties include :
- Oversee the file opening process, prepare memo's and documents for conflicts, trasnfer files, prepare closing matters and close out old
- Prepare and submit expense reports, check requisitions and invoices
- Approve / deny vendor bills / statements, enter attorney time
- May be in charge of attorney inbox, saving emails to file, and reminding / following up
- Prepare document productions and eFile documents
- Produce legal documents from verbal or written instructions, dictation, shorthand notes, rough drafts, or other materials
- Proofreads and corrects documents for correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and format
- Prepares document shells, runs and cleans up TOC and TOA
- Sorts, opens, logs, and distribute incoming mail and facsimiles to attorneys
- Files and serves legal documents with proper courts or tribunals
- Reserves court reporters for hearing and depositions
- Formats and drafts pleadings and letters, gathers and compiles exhibits for briefs
- Prepares and assembles materials, documents, and exhibits for meetings, court appearances, and hearings
- Knowledge of court rules for formatting of documents as required by each court
- Schedules and arranges meetings and conferences and notifies interested parties
- Arranges travel for attorneys
- Schedules assigned attorneys’ calendar of meetings, conferences and hearings, calendars events / deadlines by using CompuLaw calendaring system
