Reporting to the Manager of Academic Advising and Services, this is a temporary position that will continue until October 31, 2025.

Typical Duties
- Advise new and continuing students and maintain electronic student advisement files. Ensure students are aware of courses and programs available to assist them in preparation for employment or transferring seamlessly to a university.
- Identify and recruit new students in accordance with the mission, goals, and policies of the College as well as build relationships with prospective students.
- Assist students and parents with financial aid questions dealing with completion of FAFSA other applications and verification.
- Effectively utilize best practices in student assessment and advising to identify, develop, and implement career plans for students;
and ensure that students enroll in those courses that will most effectively and efficiently accomplish this goal.
Assist students experiencing academic difficulty in maximizing their success. Advise students about academic standards as well as policies and programs available to facilitate their success.
Develop education plans, monitor student progress and conduct follow-up activities.
- Evaluate and facilitate SAP appeals for FA reinstatement.
- Be knowledgeable of, and maintain contact with, social, health and community agencies and provide referral services to students as needed.
- Provide guidance, counseling and advising to individuals eligible to receive Veteran benefits including spouses and dependents.
- Provide placement interpretation, counseling, guidance, and troubleshooting.,
- Maintain specialized computer software and inventory of test materials to support testing program functions.
- May direct, coordinate and train student workers, test proctors, or other employees.
- Adhere to college, federal and state administrative procedures, guidelines, initiatives and directives to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting college operations.
- Handles highly sensitive information and confidential records and materials in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Work with campus leadership team to plan and conduct recruitment activities. Follow-up with students to create student success plans as needed to increase retention.
- Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum : Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, education or related field; three years related work experience;
and strong interpersonal / communication skills or any combination of experience, training and / or education which demonstrates potential for success in performing the essential duties of the position.
Preferred : Master's degree and / or prior experience in secondary or post-secondary education, career counseling, advising, grant writing, administration, instruction and / or budgeting.
