POSITION SUMMARY : Responsible for creating, managing and coordinating grant activity to support the organization's annual operations and program development.

Seeks to increase external grant sources and support for NAC and its programs to strengthen the quality of our services and to expand NACs program portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Researches and identifies new funding opportunities from city, county, state, federal, tribal government, corporations, and foundations.

Includes HUD, ADOH, SAMHSA, and DHHS / USPHS / Indian Health Service.Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs and reviewing requests for proposal (RFPs).

Develops, creates, writes, prepares, and completes grant proposals.Coordinates all aspects of grant writing including but not limited to complete comprehension of grant requirements and financial and program reporting.

Gains and maintains familiarity with past and current funded proposals and with all organization funding opportunities.Gains and maintains an understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and the organization.

Works with program staff and Sr. Director of Business Development to collect and synthesize data ensuring that the most accurate and up-to-date information on the organization's programs and program needs is identified.

While also conducting timely and accurate reporting for each grant.Assists with communicating grant information to the executive management, key community organizations, and the public.

Works with other potential funding opportunities to design and execute collaborative grant initiatives.Researching requests for proposals and writing letters of inquiry for new and existing agency programs and general operations.

Utilizes knowledge of NAC priorities and funding needs to connect viable funding opportunities with projects across the organization.

Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with staff across the organization to stay informed about NAC initiatives, priorities, projects, and current funding needs.

Manages a portfolio of grant proposal projects, coordinating completion of multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely, compliant, and accurate submissions.

Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for researching information, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.

Coordinates creation of grant outcomes and budget with NAC program and finance staff.Manages compliance with grant agreements and contracts, as well as program and budgetary reporting;

in order to meet grant outcomes and deliverables, implementation, timelines, budget, overall performance, and evaluation.

Responsible for developing and managing timelines and project plans. Coordinating requirements and deadlines with program and finance staff / Maintains grant tracking calendar to meet all deadlines for submission, reporting and billing.

Works with community partners / agencies on collaborative grants.Maintains relationships with funding representatives; represents agency at pre-funding events.

Supports NAC communication and messaging strategies.Assists with preparation of letters of support, and general promotion as needed.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT :

Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Public Health, or related fieldMinimum of 3 years' experience in grant writing and prospect research for a non-profit health and human services organization.

WORK EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIREMENT :

Ability to demonstrate a successful track record of funded proposals.Ability to write clearly and concisely as well as edit for clarity and grammatical accuracy.

Excellent grammatical and spelling skills.Commitment to excellence and high standards.Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Proficiency and affinity for the preparation of complex budgets and expenditure reports.Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.

Knowledge of Native American Connections and the target population served.Must support the NAC mission to promote and advocate for access to Behavioral Health, Healthcare and to create access to safe, quality affordable housing;

possessing insight that homelessness and housing instability are a significant social determinant of health and wellbeing.

Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for NAC's mission.Knowledge and familiarity with residential treatment and integrated health clinic, affordable housing, and homeless shelter operations, be able to focus and present funding requests related to NAC service lines.

Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of leadership and department heads, coworkers, funders and community partners.

MS Office, Word, ExcelDemonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational & time management skills.

Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule based on program needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays if needed.
