The Role

This customer-facing role will build, lead, and oversee the following functions within Cell, Gene, and Advanced Therapies : Marketing, Competitive Intelligence, Revenue / Reimbursement, and voice of the customer.

This role requires a strong strategic mindset, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of the Cell, Gene, and Advanced Therapies industry.

The individual will need to effectively manage cross-functional teams, drive innovation, and navigate complex regulatory and market landscapes to ensure the success and growth of the company.

This is a highly complex area in which McKesson is looking to build a long-term business. This role will be key as it will not only be required to build the model from the ground up but also to scale it for hyper-growth.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Voice of the Customer

Responsible for leading the development and implementing strategic marketing plans to promote the company's products and services.

They will also need to analyze market trends and customer behavior to identify opportunities for growth and develop targeted marketing campaigns.

  • Stay on top of CGT trends in evolving CGT ecosytem as it effects key stakeholders (Biopharma, Payors, Providers)
  • They will lead the brand marketing function and own the vendor relationship to create a strong brand identity, establish market presence, and differentiate companies operating in this rapidly evolving sector.

Manage Agency Activity budget and Performance metrics.

  • This role will also partner with the VP of Customer Success to help drive the adoption of innovative therapies, build trust among stakeholders, and ultimately contribute to the commercial success of CGAT companies.
  • Create, develop and research feedback, insights, and needs from customers and stakeholders and effectively communicating these across the organization.

Additionally, mechanisms for collecting customer feedback, analyzing data, and drive customer-centric initiatives to improve the company's products, services, and overall customer experience.

  • Develop Innovative Campaigns and Tactics that drive McKesson to market leadership in the market
  • Own the evolution of the value proposition for CGT COE and the ongoing external and internal messaging.

Competitive Intelligence & Commercial Insights Aggregation

Gather and analyze information about competitors, industry trends, and market dynamics to develop insights and strategies to stay ahead of the competition.

This will involve monitoring competitor activities, conducting market research, attend conferences, and providing recommendations to the leadership team.

  • Leads CGAT’s capability in being a consultative partner for our Life Sciences customers by demonstrating a deep understand of industry landscape and CGT Services Ecosystem
  • Aggregates, organizes, and visualizes key insights and guidance from multiple data sources for Life Sciences to better understand their market's size, potential, dynamics, and key success factors to support strategic decision making
  • Provides successful project management and delivery of Life Sciences projects through communications and presentations
  • Develop a plan to utilize vast data rich environment at McKesson to position McKesson stakeholders better to navigate the CGT value chain

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Develops and maintains methodologies, tools, and templates to support cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing across the distribution teams and specialty pharma divisions (i.

e., insights gained in operations, researching best practices, and utilizing the customer feedback loop to ensure consistent and valuable deliverables)

  • Cultivates strong relationships within CGAT’s cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to advance our objectives and interests and create value within CGAT’s product portfolio
  • Proactively collaborates with subject matter experts (e.g., medical advisory) to create and deliver consistent and relevant data, reports, and insights
  • Works closely with product strategy to ensure data and analytics aligns with CGAT’s broader business goals
  • Works closely with business development and customer success to ensure consistent account management and leverage synergy opportunities across the organization
  • Works closely with technology and distribution operations to inform further building of technical capabilities for customer ease and data capture
  • Works closely with legal, data governance, quality management and compliance to organize and build processes for the maintenance and management of information

Revenue / Reimbursement

  • Works closely with head of CGAT, finance and reimbursement teams to develop pricing strategies, net cost recovery models, and financial forecasts.
  • This requires the function to stay updated on the evolving reimbursement landscape and ensure that the company's products and services are positioned for optimal revenue generation.

People Leadership

  • Intentionally invest in the development of self and teams
  • Demonstrate visible sponsorship of talent management processes and tools that allow people leaders to identify, differentiate and develop our talent.
  • Build bench strength and pipeline plans by through leverage of available leadership development programs and assessment resources.
  • Create succession plans and talent pools for leadership and senior leader roles.
  • Conduct performance conversations on a quarterly basis (at minimum).
  • Effectively use available total rewards incentives and programming to drive and acknowledge high levels of performance.
  • Consistently seek out and provide open and candid feedback in the spirit of facilitating growth and improvement of the team.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional experience and 10+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, working in the healthcare space (pharmaceutical or biopharma space), specifically in the areas of cell, gene, advanced therapies, and / or oncology.
  • 5+ years of relevant consulting or advisory experience within life sciences / biopharma.
  • Experience in biotech / pharmaceutical R&D, drug discovery, development, and commercialization.
  • Track record of analytic, methodological, and innovative research project design approaches for external audiences.
  • 5+ years of relevant consulting or advisory experience within life sciences / biopharma.

Critical Skills

  • Domain expert in the CGAT area
  • Life Sciences industry knowledge and strong background in CGAT
  • Deep understanding of trends in the CGAT space, pertinent regulation and potential future disrupters, sources of data and collaboration
  • Knowledge and experience with application of advanced analytics, data & reimbursement modeling
  • Data-driven business model expertise
  • Entrepreneurial / Intrapreneurial attitude
  • Proficiency across various market and competitive intelligence methodologies
  • Deep understanding of healthcare industry trends and overlap / differentiation between key players in the Life Sciences Ecosystem

Education

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred.

  • Must have the ability to travel up to 20% of the time
