We are looking for a driven, strategic business leader to lead our amazing teams of Yugoers across Europe. This person will be in charge of optimizing team performances, managing relationship with several stakeholders, supporting a growing business maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage, all while making improvements to financial processes and invigorating a global brand from within.
It’s a big job! We are looking for a self-starter, that can support different markets across Europe (currently Spain and Germany) and drive the direction of the operational teams, working across multiple time zones.
Crucially you are passionate about students and energized by new projects contributing to the success and growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Lead the direction of the company vision and long-term strategy within your markets.
- Communicate and implement the Yugo Europe strategy within their markets, providing clear goals for teams and individuals to achieve.
Inspire vision and bring teams along for the journey.
- Develop a format and strategy for implementation of re-forecasts as required during the year based on comprehensive knowledge of portfolio and market issues.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders to earn status as a trusted Yugo Advisor.
Performance
- Deliver financial return to Yugo and its shareholders;
- Execute all responsibilities against business plans
- Implement and revise standard operating procedures which optimize operations, reduce costs, and ensure a consistent delivery experience, based on the changing needs within the organization
- Lead the Area Managers and collaborate with them completing annual budgets, monthly / quarterly and mid-year forecasts, marketing plans, and staffing plans.
- Responsible for the successful onboarding and mobilization of new property acquisitions and third-party contracts
- Assist in providing financial analyses for existing and future business acquisitions.
- Monitor and report on progress related to achieving operational and strategic objectives.
Leadership
- Build and lead an effective and cohesive team with effective succession planning;
- Support the employee experience and engagement through learning and development, career advancement, wellness and diversity and inclusion activities.
- Provide ongoing feedback to the management team to drive a high-performance culture; ensure the vision and strategic objectives are cascaded through all levels of the team.
Provide regular team briefings to instill a culture of communication.
- Represent the Company to the clients, regulatory authorities, the media and shareholders.
- Create an environment of collaboration and urgency between functional departments to deliver operational excellence.
Experience and Knowledge
Essential :
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years’ experience in student housing operations
- 5+ years of third-party management experience
- 10+ years of leadership experience
- Experience leading teams through fast paced growth
- Experience in real estate acquisition and dispositions
- Experience scaling and developing high performing operational teams
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, superior financial and strategic planning skills and significant familiarity with financial statements, economic analysis, and fair value concepts
Desirable :
- Experience within a Global Organization at least across multiple markets in Europe.
- Real Estate or Property Management Industry
- Experience in Netsuite, CRM applications
- European language preferably Spanish or German
