ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Griner Engineering, Inc. (GEI) is a well-established MEP Consulting Design firm providing MEP / FP engineering designs for architects and builders.

We are seeking a full-time experienced Electrical Enginee r with 5+ years’ experience in electrical consulting design to work with our engineering team at our St.

Petersburg, FL office. WHAT YOU WILL DO : General responsibilities will include the design of electrical systems for a variety of projects to include new construction, tenant improvements, or renovations for retail establishments, custom homes, multi-family dwellings, hospitality facilities, municipal facilities, medical offices, surgical centers and hospitals, and mixed-use facilities.

The successful candidate will be able to design a full set of electrical drawings based on the client’s criteria to include Lighting, Power, and Systems Design, Emergency Power Distribution, Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Life Safety Code Analysis and Design, Communication Systems, Fault Current Study / Analysis, and Photometrics.

Other responsibilities include : Responding to reviewer comments, reviewing submittals, and RFI’s. Performing site visits to examine / verify existing conditions.

Conducting electrical inspections and analyses. Performing close-out inspections when necessary. The candidate must have a keen attention to detail.

Exceptional communication skills when communicating with project clients, partners, contractors, and sub-contractors is expected.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING : You possess a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited institution of higher learning.

You have working knowledge of National Electrical Codes (NEC), Building Codes, and local codes. You are proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, as well as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

You have proven ability to perform the responsibilities listed above.
