Senior Data Scientist
Duties : Build and deliver meaningful Data Science models, products, solutions enabling functions across the insurance value chain such as Underwriting, Pricing, Claims, Distribution, Operations, etc.
Develop, grow and mentor junior data scientists in delivering meaningful business value taking advantage of the latest developments in the fields of Data Science.
Build, validate, test and deploy data science and ML models to address specific business problems with appropriate success criteria defined, tracked and reported.
Manage the end-end lifecycle of data science models working in partnership with Data Science platform, Global Technology and other relevant teams.
Build Data Science and ML capability to ensure appropriate reuse of relevant assets across the business and potentially with the wider Group.
Partner with key areas within Global Technology, Pricing and Underwriting, Transformation and Change Delivery, Group, and other teams for Projects and for Business as usual.
Instill a customer-first attitude on the team, prioritizing service for our business stakeholders.

Requirements : Requires Master’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science or related field of study, and 4 years of experience as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer or Data Analyst in the property and casualty insurance industry.
Will accept PhD and 1 year of experience in lieu of Master’s degree and 4 years of experience. Experience specified must include 4 years of experience (or 1 year of experience if PhD) in machine learning, statistics, GLM, causal inference, Bayesian inference (including Markov Chain Monte Carlo and EM algorithm), time series, A / B testing, natural language processing, and information retrieval.
Experience specified must include 4 years of experience (or 1 year of experience if PhD) with Python, MySQL, PySpark and Databricks platform.
Experience specified must also include 1 year of experience with each of the following : end-to-end model development, validation and model implementation for both GLM models and machine learning models;
web scraping and REST API Design best practice; and writing and speaking about technical concepts to business, technical, and lay audiences and giving data-driven presentations.
Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days a week. Requires up to 15% domestic travel to client sites.

Salary :
The pay range for this position is $128,773 to $177,500 / year. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skill, experience and location.
