Credit Manager

We have a tremendous opportunity for a Credit Manager with a $5B - $10B Indiana based financial institution who is experiencing tremendous growth.

Here is what you would be doing :

The Credit Manager is responsible for managing credit activities, including underwriting and risk management.

Essential Job Functions include :

  • Oversee the company’s credit portfolios to manage risk, maintain quality control and minimize losses.
  • Assists with the review and interpretation of new and pending laws and regulations that potentially affect the organization’s credit practices.
  • Reviews new potential credit relationships to determine adequacy of underwriting.
  • Assists in developing or revising policies, procedures, and agreements to ensure compliance with regulatory processes. Ensures that deviations from policy are corrected.
  • Consults with the SVP, Senior Credit Manager as to risk on complex or unusual loan relationships.
  • Manages a team of Credit Analysts and Portfolio Managers in the areas of credit analysis, underwriting, ongoing portfolio management, and assignment of accurate risk ratings.
  • Assists with the implementation of Abrigo / Sageworks software to support consistent underwriting standards and monitor ongoing receipt of financial reporting from borrowers.
  • Trains Credit Analysts to develop a consistent and thorough analysis of loan relationships while promoting a teamwork environment.

Here is what our client requires :

  • BA / BS degree in Risk Management, Finance or Business required.
  • Minimum 7 years of financial institution management experience, focused on credit risk management.
  • Minimum 3 years management experience
  • Experience developing and / or overseeing risk management for financial institutions with assets size equal to or greater than $3 billion preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated persistence and willingness to take calculated risks
  • Exceptional analytical and reasoning skills
  • Willingness and ability to accept responsibility and possesses the desire and capability of motivating and directing the activities of others
  • Demonstrates effective organizational and planning skills and the ability to successfully guide projects through to completion
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into risk management tactical objectives and projects
  • Ability to successfully build strong working relationships and interact with associates and management at all levels of the organization
