Description :
The Lead Licensed Therapist (LLT) will serve a vital role in supporting the Executive Director in expanding the organization’s footprint.
This position will report to CTSCD, Inc.’s Executive Director and will champion the culture of clinical excellence by developing standardized clinical processes within the agency.
This position will integrate and align care across systems to help fulfill the varied requirements throughout service lines and will serve as the primary clinical voice for clinical strategy.
The (LLT) is responsible for leading a team of clinicians and qualified behavioral health professionals to administer excellent consumer care to individuals with mental and behavioral service needs.
Travel between service locations is required.

- Represent CTSCD professionally in the community with all other agencies, i.e., schools, court system, mental health, DSS, CPS, MCO / LME, etc.
- Design and implement business strategies to realize program goals.
- Satisfy business plan projections and expectations for ongoing growth and expansion.
- Oversee clinical program’s compliance with legal policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Report critical concerns and problems to the Executive Director promptly and actively seek input and assistance to resolve the concern, when necessary.
- Assist in identifying and recruiting qualified clinical professionals to ensure services have sufficient personnel to meet consumer needs.
- Organize and oversee administrative and clinical care operations.
- Monitor and audit clinical records and other documentation to make sure they are current and adhere to state and federal laws / regulations.
- Administer HIPAA compliance practices within clinical programs for all consumer services, treatment, and records.
- Responsible for attending to all the rules and regulations of the agency, state, and federal statutes.
- anticipate in audits, implement plan of correction, and prepare reports to satisfy rules of quality improvement.
- Adhere to standards of quality improvement, medical records, finance, etc. of the organization, including delivery of service to consumers using best practice models.
- Perform and document bi-monthly, quarterly, and annual clinical staff evaluations and provide feedback on their performance to help motivate their dedication to professional goals.
- Provide board supervision to clinicians for licensure purposes.
- Provide monthly administrative and clinical supervision to clinicians and send reports to human resources upon completion.
- Plan and manage the clinical budget.
- Assist in programmatic development, implementation, and oversight.
- Assist in preparation of grant applications.
- Oversee staff workloads, scheduling, and approve payroll.
Direct Care (65 % effort)
- Maintain caseload of 20-25 billable events weekly until such time the clinical staff is capable of assuming those events.
- Review / enter billable events into EHR system; track and approve clinicians billing accordingly.
- Responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality and culturally responsive clinical services to all consumers.
- Apply best practice models in all treatment services including individual, group, family, therapy, case management, and coordination of services.
- Provide coverage on-site or as assigned by the needs of the organization.
- Act as a link between consumers, their families, stakeholders, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Perform comprehensive clinical and diagnostic assessments and behavioral screenings and update as required.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans with consumers, stakeholders, caregivers, and other identified support systems based on clinical experience and knowledge and update as required.
- Provide / coordinate 24-hour coverage with on-call support when necessary while maintaining schedule.
Professional Development / Growth / Team Approach (10 % effort) :
- Maintain a commitment to ongoing professional development including best practices relevant to specialty areas and organization’s strategies for care and bring insights back to team.
- Maintain annual continuing education credits as mandated by relevant licensure board.
- Seek out and track clinician CEUs.
- Follow chain of command when encountering problems or other areas of need and correct programs requested.
- Recruit and coordinate the assistance of support staff.
- Engage, develop, and maintain community partnerships; attend collaborations.
- Actively contribute to and participate in a proactive team decision-making process.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Submit weekly and quarterly productivity reports to the Executive Director.
- Self-manage time and guide clinician’s time related to service delivery, work hours, schedule, breaks, lunches, etc.
Requirements :
North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Worker Clinician (LCSW)
Maintain state licensure throughout employment.
Must have a minimum of 5-years uninterrupted clinical licensure.
Minimum master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
Demonstrates sound clinical knowledge of the service provision.
Qualified Mental Professional status required.
Two years’ experience in trauma informed care, person / survivor centered approach.
Two years’ experience in individual, family, group, experiential therapies, psychosocial therapy, assessments, and screenings.
EMDR certification a plus.
Three five years’ experience in clinical staff supervision with expertise transforming clinical staff into a highly functional team.
Residential treatment care experience.
Experience with human trafficking victims / survivors.
Experience with foster children.
Experience working with historically marginalized individuals.
Contract with or eligible to contract with local and surrounding MCO / LME
Experience working with Medicaid-eligible populations.
Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Medicaid billing practices.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 products, SharePoint, and virtual meeting platforms (Teams / Zoom)
Experience across multiple languages and cultures, particularly with refugees or immigrant populations with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Bi-lingual a plus!
