Job Overview :
We are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee on-site construction activities for ground-up and exterior projects.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction processes, from site preparation and foundation work to structural framing and finishing.
This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure smooth project execution and to meet client expectations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and trades to maintain project timelines and quality standards for large-scale construction projects.
- Oversee site preparation, foundation work, framing, and other major construction phases.
- Conduct regular inspections and provide progress updates to project managers, ensuring work adheres to architectural and engineering plans.
- Resolve on-site issues promptly to avoid project delays, including unforeseen site conditions or subcontractor challenges.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Oversee material deliveries, resource allocation, and equipment management for large, heavy machinery and construction materials.
- Manage and supervise multiple crews and trades, ensuring productivity and quality at each stage of the build.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and reports on project status, budget adherence, and change orders.
Qualifications :
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in ground-up and general construction projects.
- Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar projects from start to completion.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with Jersey City and New Jersey building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software and construction technology.
- OSHA certification is a plus.
